A team of young South African swimmers return to the country this morning from the African Swimming Championships in Algeria with an impressive haul of 84 medals. Both a senior and junior team competed in the coastal city of Oran, with the juniors earning 25 gold, 15 silver and 12 bronze medals to finish well on top of the continental medal table. Thursday, 13 July 2023 – South Africa have selected a strong team of divers, artistic swimmers, water polo players and open water and pool swimmers to take part in World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan from 14-30 July. Zimbabwean Water Polo team debut at the Fina Challengers Cup

The 2019 FINA Water Polo Challenger's Cup (previously known as the FINA World Water Polo Development Trophy until the 2017 edition) is an international water polo tournament hosted by the Singapore Swimming Association, held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre in Singapore from 8 to 13 October 2019. It is the seventh edition of the tournament which consists of ten participating nations, with 5 of those nations making a debut at the tournament, including African nation Zimbabwe.

The tournament consists of 2 groups, to be played out in a round robin fashion, which will conclude with the the nations playing-off for the respective positions.
